Another assignment

So this crazy assignment was to write a descriptive paragraph about a species of animal that you just discovered. Here goes mine:

The hyenaroo was recently discovered off the coast of New Zealand on an island that is home to some rare insects and a few rodents. The hyenaroo is the first large mammal discovered on the island. This female hyenaroo has the upper body of a hyena; it has hideously striped brown and black fur that reeks of dead carcasses. The creature does, however, spend much of its time hopping on its rear legs like a kangaroo. The hind legs are powerful, allowing the animal to leap as far as 20 feet at a time. The pouch on its underbelly is spacious enough for 3 cubs. Zoologists fear that this mammal was created in a test tube by an evil scientist from the Japanesse city of Tokyo.

"finding the apple moth has been one of the greatest achievements of my life," I told David Letterman last night on the Late Show. I was being recognized for my achievements in entomology. The apple moth is the newest species of moth to be discovered in America. It is found only in the apple orchards of Washington state. It is a beautiful and brightly colored creature to behold! Its body is green apple and its wings bright, candy apple red. The moth's two front teeth are razor sharp and venomous. It feeds on the little worms that poke out of the apples. It lures its prey out of the apples by emitting a lovely scent that reminds one of Green Apple flavored Double Bubble bubble gum. Apple farmers fear that the apple moth, with its carnivorous thirst for worm guts, will turn on the apple pickers once the worms are eradicated.
